"Highland Park couples deserve the kind of intensive, expert support that actually moves the needle. Not another hour of talking."

Couples intensives for Highland Park and the Park Cities.

Highland Park is one of the most storied communities in Texas. A 2.2-square-mile independent municipality sitting just 4 miles north of downtown Dallas, it is home to some of the state's top-ranked public schools and a community that has deliberately maintained its character for over a century. The Park Cities attract established families and high-achieving professionals who expect the best in everything they do.

With that standing comes real relationship pressure. High-powered careers, demanding social calendars, complex family dynamics, and the quiet weight of maintaining a certain life. None of it makes a marriage easier. When couples reach a breaking point, they need something more than weekly sessions. Our North Richland Hills office is about 30 minutes from the Park Cities via I-35E, and our Fort Worth location is accessible via I-35W. Both offer the privacy and clinical depth Highland Park couples deserve.

A private retreat that compresses months of therapy into 2–3 days.

A couples intensive is not a longer version of a weekly session. It's a private, structured retreat. approximately 12 to 18 hours of focused work over 2 or 3 days. It sustains momentum and builds on each session before insights fade. Unlike weekly therapy, where a seven-day gap allows old patterns to re-solidify, an intensive keeps both partners in the emotional process long enough for real transformation to occur.

Every intensive is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). the gold standard in couples work for over 30 years. Your therapist will guide you and your partner through a carefully structured process, tailored to your unique story. You'll leave with renewed clarity, real tools for reconnection, and a personalized post-intensive care plan.

For Westlake couples with demanding schedules and high expectations, the intensive format delivers what months of weekly sessions often can't. depth, sustained momentum, and lasting change.

Find Out If an Intensive Is Right for You
During Your Intensive, You'll:

Understand Your Patterns

Identify the emotional cycles keeping you stuck, and learn to face them together, not as opponents.

Explore Deeper Emotions

Move beneath reactivity, distance, and shutdown to uncover the fears and longings that really drive your conflict.

Feel Genuinely Heard

Create space for both partners to express their deepest needs, and finally feel understood at the level that matters.

Practice New Ways of Reaching

Learn to turn toward each other with openness and trust, even when it feels vulnerable and hard.

Leave with a Clear Path Forward

A personalized post-intensive care plan ensures the breakthroughs you make carry into everyday life.

Intensives are especially powerful for couples who are…

In Crisis

Infidelity, betrayal, or extreme relationship stress has brought you to a breaking point. The intensive format provides the depth of care this moment demands.

Stuck in Cycles

The same argument, different day. Weekly therapy hasn't broken the pattern. An intensive gives you the sustained, immersive time to get beneath the surface and stay there.

Considering Separation

You're at the crossroads. An intensive creates the space to truly assess what's possible, with expert guidance and no pressure toward a predetermined outcome.

Too Busy for Weekly Sessions

Demanding careers and travel schedules make weekly commitments nearly impossible. An intensive accomplishes in 3 days what might take 6 months of weekly therapy.

Seeking Affair Recovery

Healing from infidelity requires more than 50 minutes a week. Our intensives provide the structured, compassionate depth that betrayal recovery demands.

Wanting to Reconnect

Not in crisis. but feeling the drift. You want to deepen your emotional, physical, and spiritual connection before the distance becomes a rupture.

Every couple completes a pre-intensive preparation process before their scheduled dates. These sessions allow your therapist to fully understand your relationship dynamics, attachment patterns, and goals. So that your intensive time is spent on transformation, not assessment.

Pre-intensive sessions are billed separately at your therapist's regular rate ($175 for Carla James, $240 for Risper Wangari). They are required for 2-day intensives and strongly recommended for 3-day intensives.

Ideally scheduled 2–3 weeks before your intensive. If you're booking on short notice, we'll do our best to accommodate your timeline quickly.

1

Joint Couples Intake Session

Both partners meet together with your therapist to share your relationship story, current challenges, and goals for the intensive.

2

Individual Session. Each Partner

A private session for each partner allows honest reflection on personal attachment patterns and feelings that may be harder to share as a couple.

3

Read Hold Me Tight

We recommend Dr. Sue Johnson's foundational EFT book before your intensive to orient both partners to the process and language you'll use together.

4

We understand the life you're living here.

Highland Park is unlike anywhere else in Texas. A 2.2-square-mile independent municipality surrounded by Dallas on three sides, it has fiercely preserved its identity for over a century. The Park Cities, Highland Park Village, Turtle Creek, HPISD schools ranked among the best in the state. It's a place where families put down very deep roots.

But deep roots create deep pressures. The expectations that come with this community, the careers that sustain this lifestyle, the social fabric that holds it together. All of it places real weight on a marriage. And when something goes wrong, privacy matters more here than almost anywhere.

At The Love Seat, we have worked with couples from Park Cities, Northpark, Preston Hollow, and across the Dallas corridor for years. We understand the unique weight of this community and bring that context into every session. Discretion, clinical excellence, and real outcomes. that's what our Highland Park clients need, and that's what we deliver.

Think about what you're trying to save.

In weighing the cost of an intensive, consider what's at stake. your marriage, your family, your children's sense of home and stability. If the relationship continues to deteriorate, the financial costs of divorce attorneys, relocation, and child support will dwarf the cost of an intensive many times over. The emotional costs are bigger still, and longer-lasting.

Our intensives are a high-return investment in the most important relationship in your life. offered by clinicians who have trained specifically for this work and who have seen, again and again, what becomes possible when couples are given the time, space, and expert guidance they need.

Intensives typically book within 2–3 weeks. A free consultation is the first step. No pressure, no commitment, just an honest conversation about where you are and whether an intensive is right for you.
