If you’re here, you may be feeling stuck. Stuck in the same arguments with your spouse and unsure how to reconnect. Stuck trying to balance the needs of your marriage, your children, and your family, which feels more complicated than you ever imagined. Stuck carrying the weight of past hurts, betrayals, loss, or responsibilities that leave you feeling alone and exhausted.
You want things to be different. You want to feel close to your spouse again. You want more peace at home. You want confidence in your role as a parent, stepparent, or partner. Most of all, you want the pain to stop.
Together, we’ll explore the moments that keep leading to conflict and work to create new patterns that build safety and connection. I work with couples, blended families, and veterans looking for support through the hardest seasons of life.
I Work Especially Well With:
- Couples stuck in the same arguments, drifting apart, or struggling to rebuild after hurt
- Blended and stepfamilies finding their footing across households, roles, and loyalties
- Stepparents navigating role confusion, boundaries, and “where do I fit” questions
- Couples in second marriages bringing past wounds, kids, and old patterns into something new
- Veterans, service members, and the families holding it down at home
- Men ready to do the inner work but unsure where to start
As a husband, stepdad, U.S. Navy veteran, and grandpapa, I know firsthand that life is both deeply rewarding and incredibly challenging, often at the same time. That lived experience shapes how I show up in the room with you. I won’t pretend the work is easy, and I won’t pretend I haven’t been in hard seasons of my own. What I will do is meet you where you are and walk with you toward where you want to go.
My clinical work is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps couples and families understand the patterns underneath their conflict and rebuild the emotional bond that brought them together. For clients who want it, I’m also comfortable integrating Christian faith into our work.
Reaching out for help takes courage, and I deeply respect that. My hope is that our work together helps your family find its way back to peace, connection, and the kind of home you want to come back to at the end of the day.
For fun, you’ll find me turning a wrench under the hood of a car or fishing for bass with my grandson at the local pond.
Your First Session with John
Walking into therapy for the first time can feel like a lot, so I keep the first session low-pressure and focused on you. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’ve already tried, and what you’re hoping life or your relationship could look like on the other side of this work. You don’t need to have it all figured out before we start. By the end of our time together, you’ll have a clearer picture of how I work, what a typical session looks like, and whether I’m the right fit for what you’re carrying. From there, we set the pace together.
